An important note from me:
After nearly 10 years of supporting the Pavilion Cafe and Community Hub, it is with a heavy heart that I share this news. The decision to step away has been an incredibly hard one, but one I feel I have been left with no choice but to make.
All I have ever wanted is to provide a warm, welcoming community space for everyone to enjoy. But as some of you are aware, years of politics and toxic behaviour from certain individuals have made it impossible to continue under the circumstances. No one should ever have to put up with this level of negativity, and I will not subject myself, my team or my family to it any longer.
It is desperately sad that what we had in our village has now been destroyed. A space that should always have been about community, kindness and togetherness has instead been pulled apart by politics.
What I will take away, though, are the friendships, the laughter, and the love we’ve shared with so many of you. Watching your lives and your children grow and change over the years has been the greatest privilege, and those memories are something I will truly cherish forever.
From the bottom of my heart, a massive thank you to all our amazing and lovely customers, you have been the heartbeat of the Pavilion. We love you all .
With thanks to the CIC and Langton Green Village Society @James Bowdidge, @Nicci Levvy, @Mark Gamble and @Dave Whittaker, for your kindness, help, and amazing support. We all truly tried to make it work for the village and I thank you so much.
Thanks to Speldhurst Parish Council for their efforts in tackling the ongoing challenges, which has been far from easy.
Thank you to my amazing team of volunteers at the community lunches, I couldn’t have done it without you. You are simply incredible. And again deeply sad to be losing this in our village.
And finally, thank you to my amazing staff, wow! What a journey? @Jo Hughes, @Kelly Williams, @Sophie Parker, @Heidi Johnson, You have been the best ‘Dream Team’ I could ever have wished for, not just staff but people that really cared
What we built together can never be taken away. We created something special, something that mattered, and I will always be proud of that. This may be the end of one chapter, but our story isn’t over.

Our Story
Langton mum of two Emma Howden had often walked through Langton recreational ground and thought how good it would be to have a café for the community. Now Emma’s experience of running her own floristry and events business, it has now become a reality. My main aim is to work with the customers to create something that everyone can enjoy.
“I am so passionate about creating a place which becomes the heart of the community, bringing everyone together from all walks of life. “We provide top quality ‘Proper’ Coffee, all our cakes are homemade with a simple but delicious menu which is all freshly cooked on site.
We have a safe children's play area and baby changing facilities, so mums can relax and enjoy a chat, coffee and cake whilst their little ones are happily playing.
The cafe will also be running a host of different events and activities from kids crafts to Mum’s beauty evenings. Watch our events page for regular updates.

Emma Howden
Although I can be slightly bonkers, I am full of passion for the cafe, I aim to please not only my customers but also my staff to help to create a happy, friendly, welcoming environment. With a creative mind i aim to bring constant new ideas and events and create something for everyone within the community.
Jo Hughes
Our lovely Jo, is an all round fabulous lady, always there when you need her, we love her LARGE array of fabulous outfits, another on that likes a chat so she fits in well with the team. She is a whizz when wearing the marigolds, like a flash of lightning when clearing up. She loves her little cake goodie bags on a Friday!!
Jane Palmer
Crazy, lovely Jane, helps us to laugh and talk (A LOT!) she loves being on the till! She loves a bit of cleaning and is fabulous on the coffee machine.
Kelly Williams
‘No Dramas” when it comes to our brilliant cook ‘Kellers” she brings all-sorts to the kitchen! A whirl wind of effcientcy and tidyness. She loves a poached egg or two and loves being the cake tester. She loves a cafe girls night out and a few cocktails.
Rachel Dennes
Our blonde bombshell, Slightly bonkers, barista and coffee expert (if not a little possessive of the coffee machine!) Fabulous in many ways. Also likes a bit of bleech.
Heidi
Our Spicy little Ginger Nut, an all round funny, lovely lady, keeps us all laughing with her honesty. Keeps us all sane! (well she tries!) Calms the madness, fab in the kitchen and very good with the Olive Oil!
